The Disney Destiny – Overview
We recently sailed on the brand new Disney Destiny and we were blown away by the stunning spaces on this ship. The design and layout of the Destiny mirror its sister ships, the Disney Treasure and the Disney Wish. As someone who has only ever sailed on this class of Disney ships, I feel like they are laid out in a very straightforward way. People who are used to the older Disney ships tend to prefer the layout on them, but I can’t speak to the differences personally. I loved how easy it was to get around and I appreciated that the ship offered a lot of different quiet areas for young families to relax.
Family spaces on the Disney Destiny
There are several pools and a splash pad on the Destiny. The splash pad is large, shaded and easily accessible from the elevator. The kids club itself is incredibly immersive – my children were both fascinated by everything this space had to offer. My husband and I got a chance to ride the AquaMouse, explore the adults’ only area and grab a drink in the Cove Cafe while our kids enjoyed the club. These ships really are designed well for families and offer so many different onboard experiences that we do not even feel the need to spend money on shore excursions. You can check out our full ship tour, stateroom tour and Oceaneer’s Club tour below! We were able to book a Hercules themed deluxe Oceanview stateroom on deck 6 right by the elevator lobby with an extended verandah. While we loved the location of this room and the extended verandah, as a young family it just wasn’t big enough for us and we plan to only book the family deluxe staterooms moving forward, which offer just a little bit more square footage and living space. If you have any questions at all about the ship itself, our stateroom, or the kids’ club make sure to click on the video and drop a comment so that we can try to answer them!
